Questions Of the Day:

Today, when we were discussing about percentage and interest rate, Kaelan mentioned about "simple interest" and "compound interest". Unfortunately, I did not have the time and opportunity to discuss more about them.

Question 1:
Who can tell me what does compound interest mean?

Question 2:
I put $1000 in the bank and the bank pays 4% interest annually. How much money do I have in the bank account after 3 years if the money is compounded annually?
Round off answer to the nearest dollar.
(what if the interest is compounded semi-annually?)
(Maybe i will give a small reward if someone can answer the above questions correctly)

Question of the Day (Repeated):
A group of gardeners went to cut the grass of 2 plots of land. The larger plot of land was twice the area of the smaller plot. After working on the bigger plot of land for half a day, one half of the gardeners went to work in the smaller plot of land. The rest stayed on the bigger plot and finished cutting the grass in the evening. However, by evening, an area of grass remained uncut in the smaller plot of land. One gardener then took one day to complete the job of cutting the area of uncut grass in the smaller plot of land.
