ReplyDeleteThe answer is indeed (1). "Furniture" is an uncountable noun. We use singular verb with uncountable noun. It is the same for "water", "equipment" and etc.
Can you name me a few more uncountable nouns?
Agreed, furniture is an uncountable noun so we use 'is'.

I think everyone knows that the answer is a multiple of 10.
