  2. The birth rate in Singapore is around 8.99. If the birth rate keeps dropping every year, there will not be any Singaporeans in Singapore anymore as nobody will reproduce.(Ignore the first comment that i typed,Mr Soh did not upload it when I first came to this blog a few hrs ago)

The birth rate in Singapore is 8.99/1000 population. When there is no woman around, the population of Singapore will drop as there will be no more babies. We need a man and a woman to allow fertilization to take place. When there is not much people, the economic will not be good.

Why is raising the birth rate of Singaporeans important?

    1. Singapore’s number one resource is their highly-skilled people, hence raising the birth rate of Singaporeans is important for future of our country.

    2. Another reason could because of aging population posing a challenge in the near future. If the birth rate remains low, there are less people in the workforce but more people who are old and are retired. Therefore our economic development will slow down.

    3. Also, more resources would otherwise be channeled to hiring foreign talent as our local talent pool shrinks due to the low fertility rate.
